This November we will be celebrating a decade of success at the Cannabis College, that is, ten years of providing free information to the public about the wonderful Cannabis plant.
In order to mark the occasion we will be organising several different events in and around the Cannabis College. Festivities will begin on Sunday, the 23rd of November, when we will be offering an open invitation to our unique little canal in the Red Light District, bringing together all of the Cannabis-related companies. There will be several demonstrations displaying a variety of traditional hemp trades and handicrafts, and you will be provided the chance to join in and try out some of these skills for yourself! Guests will also have an opportunity to sample some of the delicious hemp seed food and drink products that are available in the market today. There will also be the long-awaited grand opening of the Hemp Gallery situated 2 doors next the the Cannabis College. The beautifully renovated Hemp Gallery will exhibit the myriad uses of the Hemp plant throughout the millennia.
The live demonstrations and workshops will be held on Sunday 23rd November from 12.00 PM until 4.00 PM. Please join us outside of the Cannabis College, located at Oude Zijds Achterburgwal 124.
In addition to the street party you are also invited to our Cannabis Film Festival. This will be held in the beautiful Bethaniënklooster building, which is in close proximity to the Cannabis College. There will be a wide selection of Cannabis-oriented films for you to view. Several film producers will present their work and will be available to give detailed information to those who may harbour a special interest, a perfect way to relax and take the weight off of your feet after a busy day in the city. The films will be shown from 1pm till 10pm on Monday the 24th and Tuesday the 25th, so be sure to visit and catch your favourite Cannabis film.
In true Cannabis College fashion we will commemorate our tenth birthday with a party on Tuesday evening. This will be a celebration and general shindig to give thanks to all those who have made it possible for the Cannabis College to not only exist but thrive over all these years. There will be music, vaporisers, drinks, snacks and general smoking shenanigans. Join us as we puff puff pass into our next wonderful decade!
On a more serious note, on the first and second of December a cannabis tribunal will be held in Den Haag (The Hague). This will be a predominantly Dutch event, but in light of the current legal restrictions that coffeeshops and the whole Cannabis industry are facing, this tribunal is of the utmost importance, long overdue and couldn't have come at a more critical time. Hopefully many of the invited politicians will have their eyes and ears opened in time to reverse the draconian policies by which many Dutch businesses have been thwarted.
